Dear Perfiosion,
I knew about Perfios 6 months before I joined. My ex roommate Mr. Eating Machine was more than excited to tell me all about this new company almost every day! Going by his thorough research that he does whatever he gets into I knew it’s no small venture. But of course I did not bother much. Later one day he told me that he will come back to me in case we need a sales/Business Development person, once the product takes some shape. I was happy (but still not excited to commit anything to him). Couple of months passed by and one day he showed me both the apps –MyFinance and MyClients and boy was I excited. I told him that day, once you guys decide on wasting money on a sales guy, do it on me!
Rest as they say is history. Post the super energetic interviews with Govi and then Dchak (2 separate days) I joined Perfios on 16th April 2009, just a day after I left MindTree (did you notice the excitement).
That was then and it is now. Many of my co-workers thought there might not be enough work to do in Perfios after 6 months of its existence:) as we would be able to build everything (a Personal Finance Software needs) by then! Which is definitely not the case! If I look back and see, We have done more than what we thought we could. Still it might take many years to achieve which can take us to be the best IT product company.
Before you get bored with my gyan – let me tell you why am I writing at the first place. Come January 2011 – things will change for the best, with the commitment all of us have put in; our fruits will finally fetch some money! MyFinance (as we will love calling it) is going FREEMIUM (well, we all know that, still reemphasizing). This would not have been possible without each one of you putting in 200% of your dedication. [MyClients is a different case all together (although we are earning regular money from it) it is built with groups of individuals in mind (WMF’s and IFA’s)].
As Govi says ‘Attitude’ is the top most thing he looks for in a new joinee I believe we all have the right attitude to get us to the top. [No wonder he recruited me as I have no brain, only attitude (I guess the good one)]
Everyone has the idea which she/he one day wants to work on but execution is everything in a startup idea, which I believe Perfios has successfully lived on – the beginning of the coming new year will bring in more flesh to these words.
I have personally learnt a lot in this company and I strongly believe (increasing everyday) that the right StartUp gives you the opportunity/learning lessons to take on many hurdles (professional as well as personal) with the right approach.
How I wish we grow and prosper in 2011…
We would be adjourned the best and the only Personal Finance Software in India (as one of my very creative poster says), meanwhile we would have collected many accolades from across the media in the fields of innovation, creativity, novelty. Might win an award from the Dept. of Income Tax of India 🙂 VC’s would be behind Govi to give money but we might not need any! Our Premium packages would have done so well that we would become profitable and FINALLY move to a bigger better office with our own canteen, where we could order and get whatever we want, yes Maggi too!! [for Swarup and Vinay:)]. Every month we would get featured in the leading TV channels, newspapers and magazines and to end with we will be featured in the Top 10 companies to work for!
How all of us might fair….
Vinay would have an army of ‘statement processors’ who would do the job for him and he might get spotted in a beach resort (drinking and relaxing). Dev and Ashok become the new pretty faces of Perfios (as you might notice am getting old, hence would have stepped down). Suhas now comes up with new (and improved) Perfios mobile App add-ons every month [even Steve (Jobs) offered him a job but as a true Perfiosion he rejects]. Rohith does another overseas trip, this time it’s around the world (still works – through his iPhone). Nagaraja will have to fit a phone inside his brain so that he can pickup and disconnect calls without his hands; just a thought would do things! Vikash would have broken 5 chairs and by the end of 2011 he would be forced to sit on the floor and work.
Wolla…embrace 2011 with open arms and say it loud with me –
BRING IT ON ME
