Learnings from 2010

Everyone at some point in time would have taken a resolution on the new year’s eve. May be many would have done that multiple times – only to break it in a couple of days/weeks 🙂 But I think its all about learning lessons from what you did in the past year.

One thing I have learnt is that being submissive or being overly aggressive does not work anywhere – be it your personal or professional life! You need to be assertive!

Never ‘try to’ make enemies, not being in touch is one thing, exchanging rough words and then not keeping in touch is another. Stay cool.

Socialize the right way: You should know, that you are not wasting your time. Either you are enjoying or there is some professional interest. Many a times we waste time, money and energy just out of some compulsion [which we eventually realize it never was!]
Do what your heart says: When in doubt, I have done this many a times and I have been successful, try it (in your profession).

Take initiative: Unless you show your leadership skills you will never achieve the heights which others have not scaled. This also gives your personality a major push, you not only become a good leader but also learn the ways in which you should handle unknown situations and how to venture into unknown territories!

Am still learning and hope I learn much more in 2011. Happy New Year.
