Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Review

1 Line Review: Yeh Movie Hai Mastani.

I never watch a movie with expectations and this one was no different. My ratings are based on ‘paisa vasool’ factor and I vasool-ed 3.5/5 worth of my paisa with YJHD. It delivered well in the end with what it started. Frankly, the 1st half started off a little slow but it picked up well in the 2nd.
Ranbir is one of the 3 actors whom I respect for their talent, others being Hritik and Aamir. Their performances have class and quality that you don’t see in others. Ranbir’s gonna remain one awesome actor for a long long time.
Here as well he does what he does best. Next, I loved Kalki. Actually she surprised me with her natural acting, thankfully she had good enough role to justify her presence and she did pretty well. Btw, she shared my nick name on the screen – Adi. Another actor with my name – Aditya Roy Kapur looked like he is continuing his role from Aashiqui 2 since he was drunk (and willing to drink more) most of the time. Frankly, his drunk role was better here than in Aashiqui 2! I have never really liked Deepika and that continues with YJHD. In the Dilli wali girlfriend song many of her moves even appeared manly to me. Sorry for freaking you out.

Oh ya, there’s Madhuri Dixit also in the 1st song – Ghaghra, Bagdad se Dilli via Agra. Ya, that’s the song. Her fans will enjoy her perfect dance moves.
Many of the trek scenes in the snow covered mountains have actually been shot there (in Himachal), at times even at minus 10 degrees, yes you read it right. But fact remains am a Ladakh loyal fan and I personally feel if there is jannat in India its in Ladakh and no where else, you can read my love letters on Ladakh here.
Back to movie, post interval it might look like a mix of ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge’ and ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ but then it soon comes back to YJHD. Most of this part is shot at the amazingly beautiful Udaipur lake palace (I guess) and the love for this location is clearly visible. Music is already a hit, much before the movie release. My personally like ‘Re Kabira’ and ‘Balam Pichkari’ the most.
Overall I liked it and I recommend you go watch it too. My inspiration from the movie is to go out and see the world, other cities, countries and continents in the this world. Just waiting for the sponsors! 🙂
