What was really going on – After realizing an Enterprise insider’s hand in multiple bomb attacks in the city, an emergency meeting is called for at the headquarters but that too is targeted and many die. They identify the villain as Harrison who is believed to have escaped to the planet Kronos. Kirk is made the captain of the Enterprise and told to get a team and go for the kill at Kronos. The team – Kirk, Spock, Uhura and others decide to capture him back instead of killing.
This leads to a lot of revelation on why Admiral Marcus wanted Kirk to kill Harrision and never capture him, so that they never get to know the reality. While in captivity, Harrision reveals that he is ‘Khan’ and spills the beans about the contents of the torpedoes which they were ordered to fire on Khan. It then turns out that Marcus is the real villain and follows Enterprise in another star ship and the fight beings.
The most thrilling part of the movie is when Kirk and Spock travel from one star ship to another in space. Then Scotty will provide you with all the fun element, as the dedicated chief engineer of the Enterprise who comes in handy when really needed.
But then the best part of the movie is ‘Benedict’ aka ‘Khan’ aka ‘Sherlock’. Supposedly an eye candy for ladies! He is one of the finest actors I have seen, more so after watching 2 of his Sherlock series he definitely rocks!
Khan gives a good fight till the end. There is a twist in the story before the ship actually start falling to the ground. Enjoy that part. All the regular drama, suspense and humour associated with such sci fi Star Trek movies are all in it.
Carol (Alice Eve) is the cutie pie in the movie. Other than Scotty, I found Bones (Karl Urban) also very funny as he always comes with problem statements in any planned activity and that too with metaphors.
Over all a good fun to watch. And ya it’s in 3D. For the first time (after Avatar) I have actually liked the brightness. Most of the movies that come out in 3D make it dark and makes movie experience that much more stressful. Thankfully this one was not like that.
Go enjoy the light years!
