X-Men: Apocalypse – Movie Review

Is the end near for the X-Men franchise? Why did it look so stale? Why did they go back and change the history?

Well, I guess they played with our emotions and hence this X Men part did not go down our heads that well. If Magneto has a past, that is what it is, it cannot changed in a new X-Men movie. If Wolverine has a past, that past cannot change. This X Men tried playing with all that! This is the 9th X-Men instalment, is Marvel running out of ideas for its X-Men? I just hope not. Am hopeful they will pick up the heat in their 10th part. If I would still go an watch is another question for which I do not have the answer now. Most probably it would be a yes! 🙂

The story here goes like this, an ancient mutant wakes up and gets on recruitment, like literally. Earlier, Charles and team (and his students) were thought to be the oldest know mutants on earth but this one dude wakes up from thousands of years before. He employs 4 of his disciples (including Magneto! Yes, you bet!) and tries to rule the world, in a funny way to start with. He first gets rid of all war heads and missiles includes nukes! Nice move I thought. Then it went on to become the same old Hollywood stereotype – ‘I will destroy the world’, then rule. Yup, been there, heard that, in a typical ‘Amrica saves the world’ script. And guess what. the movie started with a trailer of ‘The Independence Day’ where the same story repeats and Amricans save the world! Haaaliwood, please show us something new!

Having said that, am sure this movie will still earn millions. The entertainment value has not been degraded, just that pro X-Men lovers may feel betrayed with so much of twisting and turning of story lines.

I still feel its worth a one time watch. Go for it.

  1. No a x-men fan wont be let down cause its just a movie representation having human beings for comic series age of apocalypse for reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Apocalypse … the only reason a x-men fan will be let down is because of non comic readers (e.g.:YOU) they dont show the whole thing as it should be for example in future past they just sent the wolverine to the past cause non-comic-readers(e.g.: YOU) dont know the storm and ice-man like we do while in comics they sent a whole team which was awesome and the most exciting part which all guys missed was after the return they got to know that due to the change in past they have created a future timeline paradox which was a rip-off… Its might be new and bogus for you but its the memory of my whole childhood….
