Disclaimer: I love reading books but am no fiction fan.
Am more of a biography, autobiography and true stories man. ‘The Ultimate Choice’ actually reads more like a romantic drama with a pinch of mystery. Only after you have read thru one third of the book you would realise that there is a lot more going on than just romance. As I said am not a fiction reader at all and on top of it so much romance got me thinking, who puts so much romance in a thriller novel!

But then I realise there is a target audience for such stories and am way out of the league. It was hard for me to digest so much lovey-dovey stuff but a hint of suspense here and there kept me going. Even when you will realise the level of suspense is not that high and you will be able to predict what is going on and who did what. There are a couple of twists that I was not able to predict and that kept me turning the pages.
A 340 pager for my kind of reader was a lot. Not only I not read fictional stories I also get spoiled by ‘Gone Girl’ kind of fictional super hits once in a while. Hence, when I picked up ‘The Ultimate Choice’ my adrenaline was rushing as I was expecting super duper thriller and suspense. A story that grips me like a magnet and forces me to skip lunch/ dinner/ washroom break and what not! Sadly, none of that happened with this book even though I finished it over a weekend!

Guess I am not meant for fiction. Or at least not for rom-com thrillers.
Jason could be another Chetan Bhagat in the making. And I mean only the positives of his career, when I compare Jason with Chetan. Hope the Indian film industry makes a movie out of this book.
