1 Line review: Full masala movie with comedy, action and suspense.
When you know there’s Jack Sparrow kind a character in the movie played by the man himself – Johnny Depp, then no movie can be boring. He is funny, sometimes even he says anything at all, that’s right! Through out the movie his actions kept reminding me of Jack Sparrow and I kept laughing throughout. His name in the movie was also funny – Tonto. See, what I mean! 🙂
But then he was not the lone ranger, the ranger is Mr. Armie Hammer, named John Reid in the movie. He teams up with Tonto to get behind the villains to ensure they are thrown out of their dream of ruling the rail roads across America and capturing all the silver mining. BTW, the story is based in the 1800’s when the iron rails were getting laid out, wild wild west kinda set up.
There are a lot of twists and turn about who are real villain is. Also, the plot keeps changing, again with lots of twists and turns. Cinematography is great with many mesmerising shots. Great action sequences including the initial one (it might actually remind you of Sholay with Jai and Veeru!) and the climax fight – both on trains.
Mostly what I liked about the movie was its humour. In every scene there was some comic element or the other, with both Tonto and Reid teamed up, they produced some classic comedy. Would love to site a few –
1. Where Tonto is trying to bury the dead and talks to the angel horse.
2. When Tonto and Reid are following a black horse and something unexpected happens.
3. The entire scene on train when Tonto and Reid are tied together with a chain and they keep running across the train.
Everyone keeps asking Reid – ‘What’s with the mask?’ and this brings a smile, every time. You will know why 🙂
Only negative is that it’s too long – guess two and half hours was just a little too much, 2 hours would have been good. Also, if you actually search the internet for The Lone Ranger Reviews, you will see that overall it has been announced a flop, but I liked it and it was a paisa vasool movie for me. I suggest you go for it.
Didn't watch this movie, but your review is fantastic 🙂
