We had put up a stall at the Annual CA event on 12th and 13th June 2010 and it was a good decision to be there, we generated enough traction and attention. [Among all the the other stalls ours was the most informative and relevant] I was also wondering what SAP and Microsoft were doing there!! Looks like your guess is as good as mine 🙂
I must say that it was a hectic weekend! Got up at 6 am on both the days and was home only by 8pm! Need to see how effective the time spent there was. The application we have built is called Perfios.CA and it’s a place where CA‘s can manage their client’s data online. well, there is only one hiccup, all the users of this particular CA has to be a Perfios user.
You may say why is that a problem? It is a problem because most of the CA’s we interacted with have clients who simply dump their bank statements, Mutual Fund statements etc on to their Chartered Accountants desk. More than getting clients online its a mindset change that will need to take effect on all the client’s behalf. They need to get on to a way in which all paper forms can be evaded!

Concept is really good..But most of the CAs would be probably reluctant to go for it because they will have to do the extra time on convincing their client to move their financial portfolios around Perfios!
Perhaps a collaborative arm that can interact with all the clients of a particular CA or advisory and convert the physical data to digital will be a big motivation to CAs..Alternatively CAs can setup their own small Aid where they can start bringing the data into the same platform…Task is Challenging but not impossible as you rightly said More than getting client's online ,its a mindset change 🙂

This is exactly what we are doing (in the process). To start with, would be partnering with a CA and as a pilot project will get all his clients online and then will see how things evolve.
