Roy: Movie Review

1 Line Review: Do Not Watch it.

Am not sure if I have ever rated 1 star for any movie. If I did, I must have had a valid reason. Like for Roy. I have seen movies and I have seen a lot of them, anything goes by me but for those which clearly makes me feel they are trying to waste my time, intentionally. Roy is one them.

Roy is a two and half hours of drag. If I could showcase this story (if at all there was any) I could have said it all in 30 minutes (or less). At best the movie hall could have pressed the fast forward button and slept, it would have done the job beautifully I say.

But for the intense looks of Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez, beautiful roads and beaches, the movie lacked everything.

Kabir (Arjun) is a story writer and a film maker and he has made 2 films called Guns 1 and 2. He is suffering from writer’s block when he wanted to pen down the script for Guns3. Roy (Ranbir) is the lead character in his movie trilogy – Guns.  This Guns trilogy reminded me of Don 1&2. God save us all from Don3.

The real story of Samir and his movie story runs in parallel and hold your breath, nothing really happens for the next 2 hours! Yes, its boring and dragged like that.

Other than giving intense looks no character really had much to do. At one time Jacqueline gets into a dance performance (Ballet I guess) on the sea beach, out of nowhere. But then it went with the theme of the movie – to make no sense.

There are so many scenes which will make you realise how much effort the director is taking to waste your time and its clearly visible. There are 3 beautiful songs and they were some respite from the dragging.

Save yourself, watch Rockstar again instead, if you feel like watching Ranbir Kapoor in a movie.
