The original Jumanji came in 1995, I saw it on TV much later but the impact it had on me was tremendous. I was spellbound with the CGI, the realness of the whole look and feel, I had never seen anything like that ever before. I even remember being in the world of Jumanji in my every dream after I saw the movie, for weeks together if not months.
So when this new Jumanji came out, I had to watch it for sure. I had got the initial reviews that its funny. To be frank I kind of lost my cool when I heard that. Coz I wanted this Jumanji to give me the same feeling as I got years ago. But then I must confess I was not disappointed much once I saw it.
Of course the first Jumanji takes the cake as it was the best, having said that, this one is not bad at all. Plus I have gone older so the way I see it now is much different (if only we never grow old ever, if only).
The kids get detention and they are asked to clean up a room and that’s how they get to play this game and they get sucked into it. The movie gets funny because of the characters these kids choose. Wait for the dance fight scene!
Ah and I forgot to mention that it’s mostly available in 3D, get yourself a pair of clean and adult glasses for you to enjoy to the fullest. I also had fun during the Helicopter scene. Now am not telling you any more, Go for it in a theatre near you !
