In the anxiety of making the world know that you have written something fruitful, don’t forget to do the following 5 checks before you hit the PUBLISH button down there :). This is very important from the Marketing and PR angle as your image is formed depending on how and what you write!
1. Proof read – have you checked the spelling mistakes, grammar, language, tone etc.
2. Linked it – Have you hyper-linked some content of it to one of your earlier posts and all your existing and external links are working fine. Make sure you hyperlink words or phrases that may need better understanding. Test and retest before publishing.
3. Title is appropriate? – Make sure the title of your post is gripping, mostly a number would work – “5 things to check before you hit the Publish button” but also try something like – “Kill your worries before it kills you”.
4. Photos –Make sure you upload relevant photos, if its a post on travel or vacations, try not posting a personal photo. You may put up a scenery picture. For all others try Google Images.
5. Content – You should be sure of the content of your blog, is it worth reading? Are your writing it for everyone’s benefit or simply taking time out to write whatever is going on in your mind? Ensure there is a purpose to your post – Inform / Educate / Warn !!
