Wazir (film) Review: Checkmate This Thriller!

I went in with no expectations. I only knew Wazir is filled with Amithabh and Farhan’s intense performances and in addition, has Aditi Rao (truth be told, am a fan of her beauty since Dilli 6). This was enough for me to be pulled in!

The first half went smoothly with a lot of thrill and excitement and a few very good nervous moments (ab kya hoga types). The second half dragged a bit but then it ended pretty well. So over all, I had fun (and so did my friends).

Must tell you I was very happy to see that the casting itself had a song, story and all the romance. Immediately after that the real thriller of a movie followed! Neat. I like such clean stuff where doodh ka doodh and paani ka paani is separated 🙂

The special effects to showcase a paralysed Amitabh attached to his wheel chair was done beautifully. The gorgeous array of various kinds of Chess boards was a delight to watch. But the best part was the Vodka Chess game. Watch it for yourself to enjoy the scene. And then there were brilliant one liners for which I once even started clapping.

There were some things kept in suspense and you not really need to be a Sherlock to figure few things out yourself, nevertheless the suspense bundled with the thrill and a little action did the trick. You will also spot John Abraham for a few very short serious scenes and that’s how I like him. In any other romantic and musshy musshy role he hams too much.

Music is nothing to die for, but if you insist in knowing, ‘Tere Bin’ and ‘Atrangi’ are 2 soulful numbers. Wait up during the credit rolls to watch Amitabh and Farhan perform the Atrangi song.

I say you go for it. Tell me if you liked the movie and my review!
