The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Movie Review

1 Line Review: An awesome mix of thrill, humour and style.

One
of the 2 most thrilling movies of 2015. Other being
Mad Max (SPY came pretty close to being an epic comic movie for the year). The Man from
UNCLE is based on the 60’s TV series with the same name.
Incidentally the storyline is also set in the 60’s and this epic
thriller with top notch sense of humour has two dudes, a secret agent from
Amrika (Solo) and the other from Russia (Illya).

I always have the hunger for an epic opening scene when I watch a Bond movie. Spectre kind of disappointed me in that department. The man from Uncle quenched that thirst. The way in which Solo and Illya interact with each other, always trying to outwit the other is super hilarious. Then there is Gaby, the super gorgeous 3rd partner in this project (to recover a research work stored in a disk).

The movie is not only about thrill and suspense. The comic sense is unparalleled and very subtle. Then the costumes and the jewellery used is too well crafted, sexy and suave (those Solo suits are to die for). It has been made and shot like a Bond movie (I feel). Well, why should it not be, its been directed by Guy Ritchie, the same Guy who brought us The Sherlock Holmes movies. The pros do not just end there, the music score of the movie is also one of the best. I listen to original motion picture soundtracks after the movie if they linger on with me, this one did. FYI – Mad Max also has good background score. From TV series, Breaking Bad has the best soundtrack (it played in my car for more than a year after the series ended).

I somehow missed watching it when it released, hence the late review. Reports suggest there could be a sequel and I promise I’ll watch it in the first week itself.
