I did not know the storyline but had already heard a lot of praises especially about Amitabh Bachchan’s role. I was excited to check what the real deal is.
The deal was just too real, frank and honest.
Pink revolves around one incident and how that changed the lives of three girls. Yes, one incident, one police case and the multiple hearings in the court. The movie deals with a real deep prevalent issue in the India society – How girls are labeled depending on what they wear, whom they meet and how friendly they are.
The second half of the movie which only has court room scenes would give you immense satisfaction as the story moves and the loopholes in the case unfold. Amitabh Bachchan is the lawyer for the girls and I doubt if anyone else could have done this any better. But the movie is not about him, its about the subject matter that it deals with. Even if it did not have Amitabh, Pink should be watched be all.

I feel the movie should be shown in all colleges and schools along with the parents of the students. The movie has a very strong message not only for the boys but for the society which for ages has been stereotyping girls basis their lifestyle and behaviour. Pink breaks such stereotypes.
Court room drama movies have always been my favourite. More recently ‘Jolly LLB‘ and ‘Oh My God‘ I liked. Other than Amithabh the other actors also portyared their charectars real well, be it the 3 girls or the ‘neta ka bhanja’ (its his debut film). Also will also see the story writer in a cameo role – the boss who fires Falak.
The dialogues are the real superstars of Pink. Ritesh Shah has packed so much punch in all of them that it hits you very hard & deep. Like the one which says No means No and its a full sentence in itself. This one touched me. Many such dialogues showcases how our society forms an opinion about girls/ladies and how smaller things are also treated as hints for characterising the other half. You got it watch it. Many a times.
The main incident basis which the entire movie is written is shown in the end. Do not just leave after that, not yet. Do listen to the poem in Amitabh’s voice when the credits roll. You will surely get goosebumps.
With a run time of more than 2 hours, you will never feel the time. Its a fast paced movie with all the songs in the background and cuts all the crap to focus on the main story line.
Give it a dekho.
