It sure could have been called ‘Bagga Ki Lag gayi’ instead! Our beloved Jimmy Shergill plays Bagga and as usual does not get this dulhan, again. Remember what happens to Raja Awasthi in Tanu Weds Manu Returns? Ya, same thing.
Happy Bhag Jayegi (HBJ) is a light hearted comic family drama. Fun filled ride with not a single scene which will not make you laugh.
The movie starts with Happy running away from her own wedding and since her bad luck was kharaab, she lands up in Pakistan! Yes. And then she keeps running away from few other places.
Abhay Deol, his mangetar (played by Momal, her first Bollywood movie), his maid and ACP Usman (played by the heavily talented Piyush Mishra) take up the task of sending Happy (Diana Penty) back to India.
Diana Penty did good for the role, nothing extra ordinary. Ali Faisal (Happy’s lover) had a bechara role and he did look bechara, guess then he did well 🙂 Apna Jimmy was the star on the movie. Jisko dekh ke hi taras aaye, waisa character. He is a fine actor and I love him for his flawless dialogue delivery. Watch his movies like A Wednesday, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. A very talented man. He is 45 years old but does not look a year older than 25!
I have been a fan of Abhay Deol’s acting in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye and Dev D. Guess expectations are very high hence whatever he does in an average movie appears average to me. The new star Momal was not bad at all. I liked her.
I highly recommend HBJ as a time pass pop corn movie. Have a fun weekend.
