1 Line Review: If you liked ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, you will love this one.
This is a typical family comedy movie, coming from the same director, Rajkumar Santoshi. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and awesome comedians Darshan Jariwala (I liked his role of the Commissioner in Rowdy Rathore), Saurabh Shukla (our beloved Kallu Mamma) and Sanjay Mishra (I looooved his role in Phas Gaya Re Obama as the bankrupt Don). After a long time you would see Padmini Kolhapure (as Shahid’s mom).
This is a story about how a boy always wanted to become a movie star and how his mom always wanted him to become a police inspector. But as the fate has it, this aspiring movie star ends up fooling many, including his own mom as a police inspector and how the real police department also falls pray into this drama. What follows is a string of neat fun. Like in APKGK you will see clean humour, here too.
Also, like in Munnabhai, Shahid tries to portray a role of Police officer while his mom is visiting him in Mumbai, but the day she is about to leave the city she discovers his son shooting for a movie. 1st half went pretty well with a lot of laughter moments. 2nd half started on a serious tone and descended into laughter mode eventually. The comedians in the movie take the cake as they did a marvellous job. Shahid did a fantastic work too. Ileana did not have much of a role but still she performed average. Barfi was still 10 times better (her performance wise). And ya, there is a twist towards the end, you will like it.
Also watch out for Salman Khan’s special appearance (as himself). Those 2 minutes were fun 🙂
Music by Pritam is not bad. Best being ‘tu mere agal bagal’, concentrate on the lyrics you will love it. Dance by Shahid in this song is amazingly good (Ileana looks the best in this song). There are 2 too many songs which could have been done without. A so called item number performed by Nargis Fakri was totally not needed. She cannot even dance, guess she cannot do much other than pouting! 🙂 ‘Hey Mr. DJ’ plays when the credit rolls. Overall, not bad.
One thing is sure, this movie will be a big hit on TV, yup dead sure. And as expected movie channels will show it for million times. Guess would be fun then as well! 🙂
