1 Line Review: Full Masala Movie Package!
In this Hollywood hostage drama, the terrorists are not from Pakistan or Gulf they are Koreans! Yes, that’s new.
The American President gets into a hostage situation inside his own house, the white house. This kind of reminded me of the TV series Homeland but then this has more masala. You would expect Bruce Willis to do such honors (the single handed saving the President gig) but then Gerard Butler was not bad.
The Korean terrorist Kang gets into the white house with the diplomats and launches a series of attacks to ensure the President and the vice President gets in his Presidential bunker with all the elite people of his office and then he runs the show from the comforts of that bunker which is by the way even a nuclear explosion proof. But outside the bunker a few tiny bomb explosions opened up the wall to a tunnel.
Former Presidential guard Mike (Gerard Butler) gets into the white house to save the President and his kid. Frankly, from here on everyone would have known what will happen next, but the way a movie progresses is what makes it fun. And it delivered well.
As usual you will see the typical drama of a series of bombs being deactivated with just 2 seconds to go, the whole America celebrates for something, President delivers speech and the same.
Morgan Freeman has a good role as the speaker of the house and the acting President when he takes charge and starts reporting to Mike. As Mike was the only person inside the white house doing something constructive. At one time you might actually start thinking that Mr. Speaker is part of the terrorist group and the story will get another round of twist! Whether he actually is part or not you need to find out! 🙂 Also check out the walls of the white house, some trivia there, fact or not I don’t know.
Over all full masala blast.
