This book is all about women entrepreneurs. 25 of them. Mostly Indians. How these ladies never planned to grow up to being top entrepreneurs heading large teams but then and how they lived upto their dreams and aspirations.
The book is divided in 3 sections named as Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati.
Lakshmi part is dedicated to those who are the ghar ki lakshmi’s bringing fame, money and prosperity to the family with their help and support. These include Biba, Vasuli, Cremica, Vivam Agrtech, Swan Suites, Neerja International, Guangzhou Labels and a mountaineer.
Durga includes those courageous ladies who were forced into compromising situations in life and they came up enterprising! They are the ones who did not loose hope in the most difficult of times in their lives and went on to build the biggest brands in today’s world. These are, PS Digitech HR, Les Concierges, Asahi Songwon, Pansy Exports, SEWA, Shonaquip, a Caterer and a Sculptor.
Part Saraswati has women from the well to do families and have fairly better educated than the rest. They also have the will, power, freedom and of-course the money to do something on their own. And they did it. Stories of companies like Baggit, Extensio Software, Murli Krishna Pharma, Nutrihealth Systems, Lumiere Business Solutions, Odel, Krayon Pictures, 36 Rang, PJP Industries have been featured here.
The book talks about everyone’s story in around 10/15 pages each and beautifully summarizes the gist of each person’s aspirations and then a message from each one for the rest of the women world. Neatly done.
The author, Rashmi Bansal has written others books as well prior to Follow Every Rainbow, and they are – Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, Connect the Dots, I Have a Dream and Poor Little Rich Slum. I have not read the other books but I do plan to read them all. Following the rainbow, am sure inspiring the others books must be!
