If only the entire second half of the film were not wasted on showing Dev Patel searching Google Earth and instead more of the child actors were portrayed, it would have surely become a must watch movie on my list.
Saroo gets lost, gets adopted, moves to Australia, comes back to India to search for this real family. Message delivered but later part of the movie dragged too much, until the last 15 minutes became thrilling again.
I was highly impressed by the child actors – Saroo and Guddu. They have done a fine job. Especially Sunny (Saroo) as he is just 8 years old. He was picked up after searching for the right child actor for this role and apparently the crew auditioned over 2000 children before deciding on Sunny. Good for him!
The movie is based on the real story of Saroo (pic above) the movie ends with the video clips and pictures of real Saroo. That was emotional. Also, you will get to know why the movie is titled Lion, in the end.
