Kai Po Che Review

1 Line Review: A good watch. Ja Ke Dekh Le!

‘Kai Po Chhe’ in Gujarati means ‘I have cut.’, commonly used while flying kites, as a victory shout.

This movie is based on Chetan Bhagat’s yet another novel – ‘The 3 mistakes of my life’ and ya you may accuse me of filmy reading but I have read most of his novels and liked it. Here you go. This one was no different and hence I had high hopes with the movie, I must say I was not disappointed. Even though the story has been changed at many a places. It’s a good make.

The famous Rock On’s director Abhishek Kapoor did a very good job in showcasing the story even though I liked the ending of the book more but overall I loved it. The 3 pillars of the movie were definitely the 3 lead actors ( Sushant Singh Rajput, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh) portraying Ishaan, Govind and Omi. They have done an amazing job, I was totally thrilled by their performance. Its a 5 out of 5 for their acting skills from my side. Ishaan’s sister and Govind’s love is played by Amrita Puri, a cute girl. You will remember her from the movie Aisha [She is the daughter of HDFC Bank’s MD].

We all know how Chetan Bhagat writes masala novels, guess he expects each of his book to be made into a movie. Why not? After 3 Idiots amazing success and now with Kai Po Che, this policy works in his favor. Not bad.

Kai Po Che is all about friendship. Based in Gujarat it encompasses the earthquake times as well as the Godhra incident. How this group’s ambition to open a bigger sports shop, a better sports academy, dream of taking the brightest student (Ali) to the Indian Cricket team, takes shape amidst all the difficulties is what this movie is all about. You gotto see Govind in that dandiya dress (Kediyu) he looks funny! 🙂

The climax could have been better, may be just like the book so that it does not leave you emotional but joyous!

Go for it.
