Jolly LLB Review

1 Line Review: Jolly LLB, ja dekh le tu bhi.

Jolly LLB is all about court room drama and how a common man law graduate Jagdish Tyagi struggles to get cases and earn his living. Then gets a brilliant idea to file an PIL (public interest litigation) against a court’s decision where the accused walks free in a famous hit and run case of a rich man’s son, where he has allegedly killed 6 innocent people sleeping on footpath while he was driving drunk.

Case sounds familiar? Ya, to me too! Sadly in real life the cases do not necessarily end in the favor of aam aadmi. This is exactly what has been portrayed in the movie. A story of how a small time lawyer (Jolly) is twisted and played with and how he rises to the occasion to get justice delivered.

Boman Irani is the lawyer for the rich man and as expected from him, he delivers class. Crisp and flawless acting, as always impressive. I have always been a big fan of Arshad Warsi acting skills and composure. He is good with comedy and serious roles, he shows maturity in his acting. How many of you know that he was orphaned at the age of 14 and made his own destiny from there on. From door to door sales man to dance instructor to assistant director to actor. His life story can also be made into a movie!

Back to the movie, the icing on the cake is the JUDGE in the court room – Saurabh Shukla (za Kallu mama from Satya), his screen presence is so delighting that you will not want him to get away! He points mistakes in Jolly’s way of working but expects an honest struggling lawyer to perform and how he gets on to Boman is something you should watch. He is simply superb.

I loved the movie and got what I expected. The ending credit has a glittering song. I loved the lyrics, pay attention.
