1 Line Review: A cute one time Romantic Comedy.
I found this movie funny, cute and romantic. Something similar to Love Aaj Kal. Yudi (Saif) lives in the US, has written a book long time back, is enjoying life, has money, changes girlfriend as soon as they ask for commitment. His justification – I don’t have a problem with ‘I Love You’, I have a problem with what comes next.
His car gets seized and then only he realises he has no money left and will have to write another book/story to continue earning some money. That’s when he meets Aanchal (Ileana), another author, who’s current book is doing wonders in the market and is busy doing book readings (publicity) across the country.
This is not a suspense comedy hence you can guess what happens from here, he does not want commitment, she agrees, they become friends for benefits and eventually fall in love!
Ranvir Shorey plays a ‘sataya hua’ husband who’s only rescue is to take time off from his wife and party with Yudi. He is too damn funny! Kalki Koechlin plays Yudi’s girlfriend who is so much in love with him that she does not even realise Yudi has broken off with her. This story runs in parallel thru out the movie and is hilarious.
But the most funny of all are the conversations between Yudi and his inner self, that part is also played by Saif but the character is too funny, and is eating all the time. These short conversations are funny.
Govinda has a short role, he is a superhit star in India but wants Yudi to write a fresh story for his new movie by copying bits and pieces from many Hollywood movies.
Ileana looks cute and does well for the role. But Barfi! was her best performance. Songs in the movie are good too. I personally like ‘Jaise Mera Tu’.
