First half of the movie is hilarious. I would give 4 stars for the movie until interval. But the second half became a little drag. Hence going with 3.
But am happy with my 132 minutes spent. All throughout the movie the audience was laughing all the time, I also laughed multiple times, more in the 1st half though. The storyline had a lot of flaws but I did not go in with a mindset to judge, I was only spending time to have a good laugh and the biggest expectation was from Ayushmann. These days whatever he touches it turns gold. Guess Dream Girl may not turn gold (sadly), it was not that good.
Only problem was script (mostly in the 2nd half). Nushrat’s character is portrayed so soul-less that the relationship (with Ayushmann) is not really used well at all. Also whenever I see Nushrat I can only see Sweety from the Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, as the shrewd character who has scarred my brain. At the back of my head am expecting her to do something villein-is in every movie!
The best role portrayal is done by Vijay Raaz as an inspector. Dadi is awesome, the scene with whiskey is the best. Annu Kapoor is at his best, loved him to the core. You will also find Nidhi Bisht (famous for her many web series), she is not bad for her short role.
Loved all the songs, Radhe Radhe will be this Navratri’s favourite am sure!
Go watch it, I say.
