The Book title is – Think Like a Freak – How to think smarter about almost everything!
The authors are Steven D Levitt and Stephen J Dubner. If the names do not trigger any reaction let me tell you about the previous 2 books they have written – Freakonomics and Super Freakonomics. Ah, now you know.
Now back to this book’s title – How to think smarter about almost everything. This is sheer nonsense. They just cashed in their fame from their previous success – Super Freakonomics is a super book, so is Freakonomics.
Given a chance read Super Freakonomics AGAIN but avoid this one.
That’s it, I have summed up the entire book in 1 line for you. Do not go by the cover of a book – in this case the hot dogs look delicious. But frankly, I bought it because their previous 2 books were path breaking and beyond regular wisdom, so much so that it created many controversies (like, why terrorists should buy Life Insurance).
This book is a fad. Riding on previous accolades.
I think their juice is out and they cannot produce enough now. They should do more and more research and hold their excitement to write a book and put it on sale asap. This book was uncalled for and it shows in the content.
Look at the font size, for a 200 pager book. Was this meant for primary school?
The worst part of the book is that they have not done enough research to write a book. Oh come on, with the kind of awesomeness that you have given to the world in your previous books wouldn’t you like to live up to your reputation before spilling so much mud on yourself knowingly.
God knows what they were thinking. Oh wait, they were “thinking like a freak”.
Truth be told. This book is best avoided. Please pick up Super Freakonomics and read it twice. Yes, its that good. For that matter Pick up Freakonomics also and keep with you. Read whenever you can. Both the books are a keeper.
