1 Line Review: Intense. Bradley Cooper will touch your heart.
The movie is based on Chris Kyle’s life as a sniper in the American military. He has been termed as the most lethal sniper in the history, apparently he took 255 shots and 155 was confirmed. Making him ‘A Legend’. His very first kill was a women and a child when they both tried to hurl a bomb towards them. Imagine that!
Bradley Cooper is a class actor and he has done a marvellous job here. His portrayal of Kyle’s thought process and what runs into his mind after making so many killings in each of his tour to the war prone areas around the world actually makes you realise how affected he was. He only had saving his men on his mind, even when he was home with his family, mentally he was preoccupied with war zone thoughts – all the time. In one of the scenes he was staring at a TV set daydreaming war, even when the TV was not on. In fact he even tells a psychiatrist later on in his life that he feels bad about those lived he could not save during the times he was deployed in the war zone.
His most famous work was killing of ‘Mustafa’ when Kyle took the shot even when the target was 2 km away. He took him down in his first attempt only.
He was killed in 2013 by another Marine whom Kyle was helping in the shooting range, recovering from Post Traumatic Stress disorder. Reason of killing was unknown.
The movie ends with real footage of how the nation mourned at his death and from the funeral. Bradley Cooper is already nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards.
