ABCD2: Movie Review

1 Line Review: If you have seen ABCD, you will not connect to ABCD2.

Atleast I did not! 🙁 I was so looking forward to this movie. I loved the 1st one in all its glory (read my previous review here), the story had a heart, dance numbers played at the right time and at the right place and you felt connected, dil ke taar baje the!!

ABCD2 fails to make the connection of getting into a dance competition, the build up to the finale is weak, the characters do not have enough background and the biggest flop is Prabhudeva himself! His role as a guru of the team showcases nothing that makes you actually believe in him (unlike the first movie). All the time when the team was performing, he has been shown crying, supposedly khushi ke aansu, but looked more like magarmach ke aansu.

But what disappointed me the most was the fact that ABCD2 does not extend the actual story of ABCD or added on to it even when almost the entire cast was reused!! ABCD2 uselessly dedicated more time and energy on Varun and Shraddha.

Most of the performances started and ended abruptly and in the end (when the final competition starts) it gets really messy! I was waiting for it to get over. With a two and half hour of running time, it did not do justice to the legacy. I came out disappointed.

Another important things I would like to highlight is that usage of patriotism in this movie. Holding an Indian flag or creating tri colours in as many ways possible not necessarily would get super success for a movie. Just an observation.

Music was average. In comparison, I still have a few song in my car from the earlier  hit.

All in all, you may want to give it a miss. If you have not seen the previous one, I recommend you see that one instead.

Vishnu Saaar, you disappointed me! 🙁
