Welcome Back Review: You Are Not So Welcome!

This one is a sequel to ‘Welcome’, a 2007 release, the same year when one of my favoriate movie also came out – Dhamaal (I watch this one every single time I get a chance). ‘Welcome’ was paisa wasool fun (please do not judge me, I like all sorts of movies), but ‘Welcome Back’ failed to excite (at all) as the plot itself was not too solid. They just tried stretching the existing theme with very little addition and changes.

We also missed Akshay Kumar here (he was in the first movie). He is one super actor who fits in movies like BABY as well as Hera Pheri. That’s called super talent. The replacement here is John Abraham, we all know how much he can act, so no discussion there at all. We missed Feroz Khan as well. He was replaced by none other than the legend Naseeruddin Shah, but he does not fit such roles that well (he is best suited for A Wednesday kinda role).

You will also find Shiney Ahuja in the movie, guess this one is his ‘come back’ movie! He has a short role. You will find Dimple Kapadia and a new comer’s role interesting but could have been much more interesting provided they were given more importance in the script.

Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar gave average performance. I put Shurti Hassan in the same category as John Abraham – can never learn acting. Same is the case with Katrina Kaif, but my love for her keeps me away from saying such things for her! 🙂

Few scenes and dialogues were funny in the entire movie, the graveyard scenes were really funny, but the 2nd half was unbearable and the climax was the worst ever! Music sucked big time!

All in all, you are not welcome even when they say welcome back. And mind you I am saying this even when I knew what I should be expecting when I went in. If you are in mood for some comedy, watch Hera Pheri instead.

Cheers!
