Nothing can be as disappointing as watching the first scene in a Bond movie and say, oh! that it? Well, that’s how I felt when the opening fight scene ended. FYI – the best opening scene of a Bond movie performed by Daniel Craig was of Casino Royale (click here to watch). Even though the Spectre opening scene is technically very good – it has a couple of long shots and cinematography is amazing.
Disclaimer: Spoiler Alert!
Spectre starts too slow, drags and ends with very little thrill or any Bond kind of edge of the seat entertainment. The entire movie was like that – after long spats of dragging story, very little really happened. Even the car chase was too dull. (Rome was beautiful though) None of the Bond gadgets bedazzled us with new and awesome tricks! The car with fire from behind and a button which gets Bond out into air with parachute. YWAN – seen these decades back. Kuch naya nahin hai kya yaar? Each of the Mission Impossible series and the Bourne series movies have more thrill than this one – even on repeat what! The opening song (performed by multi Grammy winner Sam Smith) was also too dull. Remember Adele’s Skyfall song? Am still on love with that (Listen to it here)
Seriously, was this a Bond movie or a prequel to an actual Bond movie? Tell me pelez.
Yes, that’s 2 stars for a Bond movie. Gosh, feels so unfair even writing this. But then that’s how I felt Mr. Bond – Betrayed. I love Daniel Craig as James Bond but Spectre does not use him enough (FYI – My all time favourite Bond Pierce Brosnan). But like always the suits were out of this world, the fitting just too good n sexy, the sunglasses – uffyumma!! *am starting my monthly saving for buying this sunglass*.
Even though the snowy mountain chase scene was good it did not excite me much – too less too quick. Frankly, each time I expected things to get juicy the thrill ended! The bond girl seemed crying all the time or she made that face which she thought made her look sexy, sorry, you did not! The villain did not excite me enough, piercing needles into Bond’s face is so Wolverine-kinda-been-there-done-that entertainment. Naya kya hai?
All in all I would rather watch Casino Royale again than watch this one. Thank you. James Bond, you better pull up your socks for the next gig!
Iss baar kuch naya dikhana yaar!!
