Ittefaq Movie Review

Socho na, dekho toh, Dekho na, kya huaa…..Ittefaq se.

A well established writer Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra) is accused of 2 murders but there’s another suspect Maya (Sonakshi Sinha) and obviously there are 2 versions of the same crime scene. Inspector Dev (our dude Akshaye Khanna) is the assigned officer to investigate.

Akshaye does a decent job as the investigator involved in the kashmakash of digging the truth between Vikram and Maya. Atleast one person was lying. He does such roles with ease and I love that fact about him and the screen loves him. Sid plays a no-nonsense bechara role of the innocent writer accused of 2 murders. Sonakshi/Maya the other accused was not-so-convincing playing her character but only when you watch the movie you will know what the hell really happened!

The cinematography was good, NO SONG was a big plus. The movie promises to be a murder mystery and it delivers. Many might find it a little predictive but then among what all we have seen in 2017, Ittefaq is surely a good paisa wasool.

There are many funny one liners and I loved them all, the constable was over acting but the inspector did well.

I have never found Sid convincing as an actor in any of his performances, be it his first movie Student of the Year or any other (Ek Villain, Hasee Toh Phasee, Baar Baar Dekho, to name a few) having said that, he is not non-bearable hence not all of his movies are out right flops, they still do ok. To be frank, he does not really stand out! But thats just me.

Am going with 3 stars for this Ittefaq. Go for this short and crips movie.
