This very day the first tweet was uploaded! Since then, the power of 140 words has never been the same! Who could have ever imagined that a site would limit you on what you want to say and it will still be liked so much! Not until 21st March 2006!

What is twitter today? It’s THE thing that happened to the celebrities, educated politicians, news channels, organisations, event organizers or may be everyone about whom the common man wants to keep in touch with!
Twitter has become the place for breaking news, company announcements, the best place for celebrities to connect directly with their fans, the stand up comedians keep tickling your funny bone with their round the clock fun filled tweets! If you are a Amitabh Bachchan or a Shah Rukh Khan fan, imagine before twitter you could only read about them and see on TV, with twitter you can actually talk directly to your superstars! Most of them actually break important news on twitter than to any media house, now that’s a real shift of focus! The news channels are seen quoting tweets on the day’s events from the related parties!
And what the hell, even The Prime Minister is here!! 🙂
During the bigger disasters it obviously has come to the rescue but most importantly it has helped in local calamities, like a fire in the city and you get flooded with tweets giving you the do’s and don’ts, where it is, traffic jam situations, injury toll (with images) with the proper hashtag. And all of this done by the common man!
The trends (top 10) tells you what’s hot in your city, country or worldwide!
It has truly changed how I consume news (being the first to know, even before news sites), what’s more funny is that these news sites break news on twitter first and then write the article for their website and lastly broadcast it live!
