Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Review

When you go to your nearest theater to watch this flick (after reading my review, which you should), please ensure that you do not take your toddler with you. You have no clue how much you get cursed when you do not get your ass up to take the baby out, when the kid is crying out loud!

Now to the review…movie is a romantic comedy between 2 strangers who meet by chance, get drunk and get married in a chapel and then in the morning realize WTF they have done and how they should amend their mistake. Yup that’s the story.

Remake of a Hollywood movie with an Indian twist. You will not feel odd as it’s a Dharma Productions and Karan Johar has put up the same NRI thingy into it.   I hate the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam music played when the Dharma logo appears.

Anyways, the movie is a good rom-com if you are light heart-ed person who likes such stuff, but then you will still feel that the movie is slightly slow and lacks the spark to be a super duper hit. 3/4th of the movie is in the US and then it comes back to India with a lot of new characters in Kareena’s family. Her dad is cute btw.

There is not enough comedy or romantic scenes, but you will love Kareena and Imran in the movie for giving their best. Not that this movie required any special skills to work on. Kareena looks cute except for the Aunty ji song where unintentionally it seems like the joke is on her! Yes, she looks so fat in that dress! But otherwise I found her cute.

The only comedy sequence in the movie is when Kareena insisted that Imran contacts his ex-GF (Anusha) to see is he can get on to some romance, but then that also will not give you enough kicks to give this movie even a 4 star.

Disclosure: Am not a rom-com person hence my review could be slightly biased.

The songs are nothing great except for the title song, which again is played in the background during the night when they get really drunk and get married. Other than that Gubbare is the only savior (andhon main kana raja).

Over all the movie is a 2.5 out of 5 even if you are a romantic comedy lover. Go with low expectations and you will come out average.

The movie does not end the way you think it should! 🙂

  1. ya man, that kid was crying as if it needed oxygen to breathe and the parents were not budging to go out as they would miss the movie! How lousy! First you get the kid and screw up everyone's experience and still not leave even when it's highly embarrassing for you!! I hate such parents!

  2. In such a case, i prefer to gently voice my opinion which sometimes motivates the feeble souls around, to join me, who needed some threshold energy 🙂
