Don 2: Movie Review

There would be many moments when you will laugh your heart out, you can start with SRK’s intro scene! Whats with the making of different types of constipated faces every 15 mins? Only he knows that. If you do not get enough with the faces then enjoy the sleazy single liners from him, that too on a regular basis. Thank god I did not buy that 3D ticket with pricing soaring as high as Rs.350. 


At one point in time I was so happy to see Hrithik Roshan, only to realize he is here for 5 mins max. For the record, I knew it was guest appearance but I was hoping against hope that he was the Don and this movie becomes so likable, his dialogue delivery as a Don showed it all. But sorry, you were not destined for a joy ride.

 I am not questioning the scenes copied from Oceans 11/12/13, Bond movies or Mission Impossible, am perfectly ok with that, after all Bollywood copies a lot of stuff from Hollywood and  it’s ok to do it. If done well will be appreciated or atleast it will recover it’s investment. 


BUT what’s with the ‘hitting on junglee billi’ while you are into the robbery? The plot completely LOST IT when SRK was asked to get back inside the bank to save the hostages and he starts his amazing one liner hits for Piggy chopps. 


At this point in time I must confess that I dozed off for a cool 10 minutes and I was woken by my own snore, only to get up and see SRK was still hitting on her! Also realized a fact that Don 2 is a very long movie. So please keep yourself awake, else will miss the climax (the ending is real cool, btw).


Many a times I found SRK trying to copy ‘Joker’ of ‘The Dark Knight’, which I disliked very much. Mr. SRK “aap Joker ki charno ki dhul bhi nahin ho”. 


We kept roaming around the world in $4 (got the pvr ticket for Rs.220) in the movie – Malaysia, Thailand, Germany etc. Piggy chops, with so much hopes on her, did not do any stunts which she is so very capable of, wasted. Lara Dutta was also wasted with only one dance program (in celebration of Don’s return from jail) and a few minutes scenes here and there. Music was anyways non-repeatable. 


Few things I did like about Don 2 – Don’s wardrobe, Lara’s looks, cinematography, climax and the interval. 


The last scene also has Don 3 as a number plate on SRK’s bike. Mr. Farhan, if you are planning to make another Don with SRK, thank you but no thanks. 


And yes, an advice for Mr. Don – Please have high fiber diet, drink plenty of water, sleep 8 hours a day and you should be able to come out of your constipation, faster.
