For some its a tough question but for some (like me) its pretty eazy question to answer – what is more important to you IPL or World cup T20? My answer is very straight – the World Cup – becoz that’s what counts. Ya if I was a player in one of the IPL teams my answer would have been different 🙂 for obvious reasons.
For more than a month I have been getting bugged watching matches every night on TV. You may say if I do not like it then why do you watch it? Well, my answer to it is that because of IPL all other channels do not show really good stuff…like HBO is running a series of awesome movies right after 9pm movie! That clearly states that you do not get viewership during the match primetime hence the focus is on the 11:30 pm movie! If it was not for semi final and Finals the league matches were getting boring to the core…how long can you see the same teams doing it over and over again? From next year you will see 2 more teams playing and then the number of matches will go over 80 (I was told by a friends. as I do not follow IPL news) – well, all this is going to happen only if IPL survives the earthquake its facing these days! 🙂
I would not like to comment on the ownership of IPL teams, Mr. Lalit, Mr. Pawar or anyone else right now as its too sketchy now…will come back with another post with my views…
By the way, its IPL Awards Night tonight and looks like SRK and Karan Johar are hosting it, Priyanka Chopra also tweeted saying she is practicing for the night. Hope to see a blast…
Now that the IPL matches are over (just the final left), I will get to see better movies at primetime. Thank IPL for that and as the WC T20 starts in a couple of days time, will be interesting to see how our exhausted players perform in the Caribbean…All the best to the united Team India of WC T20.
