1 line review: Full masala comedy movie. If you have liked Golmaal, you will enjoy this one.
If you like Rohit Shetty movies, you will get what you get-in expecting. And come out laughing.
Few things that you will enjoy the most:
1. The English sentences from Ajay’s role.
2. Abhishek Bachchan’s dance.
3. Great work from the new comer Krushna from the Comedy Circus fame.
4. And the almost forgotten from the movies – Archana Puransingh’s awesome performance.
If you do not come out giggling and repeating Ajay Devgan’s English dialogues from the movie, you are not a sport I say.
Examples: Pest control yourself, my chest has become blouse, when elders get cozy youngers don’t put their nosy. etc.
Few things that will bore you:
1. The casting song with Amithabh Bachchan.
2. Scenes that never end, basically Rohit Shetty does not know when to say ‘cut’ to a scene. There are many instances where you are mentally done and laughed enough for it’s scene worth and you want to move on, but the scene is still going on. For example,
a. The fight scene at Ajay Devgan’s brother’s house,
b. The discovery of Abhishek Bachchan’s mother scene.
c. You fill in here, can you spot them?
But to put things in perspective, it’s the first remake of the evergreen movie GOL MAAL. So ironic that all the other Golmaal’s of Rohit Shetty were never intended to be remakes of Gol Maal.
I am not a fan of Abhishek Bachchan’s acting for obvious reasons, I was here to watch Ajaj Devgan. But to my surprise, Abhishek too surprised me with his comic acting. You will die laughing when he is introduced as a dance teacher for Ajay’s sister – Radhika (Prachi Desai).
The stage performance just before the climax is also very hilarious! Ladies do not have much of a role, the take away is only the awesomeness of dialogues from Ajay. I have liked the movie and am sure you will also. Do not miss the making scenes when the credit rolls in the end, that’s fun too. Try spotting Sanjay Dutt.
Laughing so much in the movie, my stomach became lungs. Enjoy.
Verdict: 3.5/5
