1 Line Review: Just too long, almost 3 hours!
This Bajrangi fellow was a much mellowed down character than what Sallu has played in most of his recent roles. Having said that, nothing can take away the fact that this movie was just not ending. Removal of couple of useless songs here and there could have done some wonders. Also, they did not play one of the peppy songs – Aaj ki party.
Anyways, point is, I liked the movie but only if it were atleast an hour shorter, the story line would have made much more impact than what it did.
For the first time ever in any Sallu movie, the star is not Sallu (guess I should have given 1 more star just for this thing, well never mind). The star is the 6 year old (she is 7 in real life, as of July 2015) speech impaired Pakistani girl. The story revolved around getting the girl back to Pakistan to her family. Sallu took this responsibility to do it himself since all other ways failed. Kareena has a tiny role, her father has a funny role but then a short role of Sallu’s father pretty was funny.
Then came Chand Nawab (our very own Nawazuddin Siddiqui), his first scene itself is an imitation of what the real Chand Nawab once did and the video went viral for it being way too funny. This character is an inspiration from the real Chand Nawab (yes, there is a news reporter in Pakistan with this name). Here is the original video:
Nawazuddin acts flawlessly and I liked him much more here than what he did in his previous Sallu starrer movie – Kick.
There was a lady sobbing during the climax, sitting next to me. I can imagine how touching it would have been, even I almost cried. Naaah, just kidding. A true fan (more so a typical SRK or a Sallu fan) is expected to do all this! 🙂
Am a true fan of Ladakh and every scene which takes me closer to that place touches me. The Kashmiri mountains and the glaciers were neat (but nothing beats the scenes in Highway, Rockstar and Haider). The climax scene was shot in Sonamarg.
If you still have not watched it, relax, will be on TV soon.
